How Long Does It Take To Grow Weed
What Is The Average Indoor Grow Time?
The average time for marijuana is anywhere between 8 to 28 weeks.Ultimately it depends on several factors. And there are two main factors that should you need to complete before you're ready to enjoy your own cannabis. This is the vegetative stage and flowering phase.Ultimately there are a number of factors that will influence the growing time, such as whether you are growing Sativa or Indica and using photoperiod and auto-flowering strains and ultimately whether you are growing your weed indoors or outdoors, but the average time is between 8 to 28 weeks.
Getting ready and setting up 1 day to 4 weeks
Before you start any project, it is always wise to plan because failure to plan will lead to total failure of what you are planning to do. Planning, getting ready and setting up your grow space is the first most important step to weed growing. You do not just wake up one day and decide to grow your weed. You must have your space and equipment ready. If you have everything you need, this may take you only one day. However if you do not have everything, it may take you even four weeks to get everything in its place. This includes buying all the right equipment and all your other growing supplies. Some people buy some of their supplies online and they have to wait for a certain period before they get their deliveries depending on where they are shipping them. Unlike outdoor weed growing, indoor growing is more expensive. some of the supplies you have to think about are LED GROW LIGHTS, HPS grow light and CMH grow light .reflective materials, GROW TENTS, HYDROPONIC SYSTEMS, nutrients packs and other growing medium, you have to target trustworthy grow shops for your supplies. In order to find the best, you will need to carry out some research on a few of them and read all the reviews. Therefore it is safe to say that the setting up step takes 1 day to 4 weeks and in extreme cases, this step can even go to two months.
The germination process.
First, there is the germination process. This is usually the process that people give least importance to, but, it is of vital importance because if we do not do it correctly we can spoil the seeds. The techniques for germination are very diverse, from the typical technique that uses a napkin or wet paper, to the use of stimulators or planting the seed directly in soil, on a jiffy disc or in a glass with water.
The best thing to do is to use the napkin or wet paper and, as for the time, to re-emphasize that it is relative. It will not only depend on the conditions of water, humidity or oxygenation, we will also have to consider the quality of the seed, its fertility, the variety or strain in question. However, the seeds usually take between 24 and 72 hours to germinate. Sometimes we find seeds that can take 5,10 or 15 days to arrive.
VEGETATIVE GROWTH
All cannabis can be cultivated with a 12-12 light-dark cycle, in fact with as little as 8 hours of light hardy ruderalis strains can endure. We recommend far more comfortable treatment of cannabis plants.
Sativa strains may only require a further week or two under 18+ hours of light before inducing flowering or plant height could become unmanageable later in the bloom cycle.
In contrast, indica strains typically require 4-6 weeks as they are generally stockier bushes and need time to fill out. Hybrids are a great option for novices and veteran cultivators alike as they can race through vegetative growth, becoming vigorous branchy beasts in as little as 2-3 weeks with 18+ hours of light.
Applying training methods and/or pruning for yield, techniques like topping or FIMing will usually require a prolonged vegetative stage regardless of the strain as all plants require recovery time to respond to these practices.
Some strains respond better and faster than others, in general terms if your number 1 aim is high yield: SOG for indica and pruning or LST followed by ScrOG for sativa's.
Hybrids are versatile and respond well in a variety of systems too.
If you seek efficiency, then think about a second grow tent or grow room dedicated to vegetative growth; with minimal investment you can take advantage of crop rotation.
Flowering stage 5 weeks to 16 weeks
For many people, the flowering stage is the most exciting phase in weed growing. This is the stage where you can finally tell whether your plants are male or female and get rid of the males if you do not want the female plants to be pollinated. Plants in the flowering stage need plenty of water and less light. During the flowering stage, the plants double their size so when transferring your weed from the vegetative stage to the flowering stage, make sure you know the size you want your plants to achieve. The flowering stage has several phases that all take about five weeks before moving to the harvest stage.
The first stage in the flowering phase is the transition to flowering or the period before you start seeing flowers on your plants, which takes place in the first to the third week. In the third and fourth weeks, the plant starts forming budlets and now you can clearly see how many budlets each plant has. On the fourth to the sixth week, the buds start flattening up meaning they are almost ready for harvest. From the sixth to the eight week, the buds are now ripe and you can clearly see the pistils darkening. Some strains stay longer in this stage. You can also decide to keep the plants longer in the flowering stage to increase the yields. Once the flowers are ripe, plants tend to bulk them up thus increasing the yields.
After the eight week, the flowering phase ends and it is time to go to the next phase, which every farmer looks forward to. During this stage, some growers also use special fertilizers to increase the bud formation.
HARVESTING, DRYING AND CURING
Harvesting cannabis is the culmination of all your hard work. Be patient and keep your eye on the trichomes; harvesting too early will reduce yields and potency too. Harvesting too late can ruin the high, particularly if you're looking for an uplifting buzz.
Take care to manicure your marijuana carefully. Whether you're using a simple trimming scissors or pro trimming tools, pay attention to removing as much leaf material as possible without spoiling the buds.Toss away the fan leaves and save that quality trim in a paper bag for making hash from it later.
Dry your marijuana in a dark and dry place. Popcorn buds and trim leaves can be dried relatively quickly in 3-5 days in basic brown paper bags stored in the wardrobe.
The bulk of your harvest should be dried slowly and carefully over a period of 10-15 days. You've got lots of options and the grow tent can easily be repurposed with the addition of a drying rack.
Drying nets are really effective too. Just make sure the humidity is low, ideally 40% or less and room temperature or a little below is perfect. The box from your new pair of runners with a few air holes poked through the top can be a great drying box.
If you simply cannot resist any longer or have depleted your stash, well, feel free to sample the fruits of your labour after two weeks drying. It's no harm to sample at this stage just to make sure everything is delicious, potent and free from mould.
Curing is the final process to get the absolute maximum flavour and potency from your marijuana buds. This can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. We have put together a comprehensive guide to drying and curing your cannabis properly, so check it out.

If you can keep your patience and complete this process we congratulate you and recommend a tasty spliff to celebrate.
